1. Follow Jesus.

One of the most important decisions a person will ever make is the decision to follow Jesus. Everyone of us has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). That sin separates us from God and leads us to Hell (Romans 6:23). The Good News is that Jesus paid the price for our sin by dying on the cross (Romans 5:8). Anyone that accepts Jesus as Lord and believes that God has raised Him from the dead will be saved (Romans 10:9).

2. Get baptized.

Baptism is an important event in the life of every Christian. It does not save us, but rather illustrates that we have already put our faith in Jesus. It is a visual representation of the death, burial and Resurrection of Christ. Baptism serves as an outward act illustrating the inward change and new life that we have in Jesus. Romans 6:4, "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

3. Church membership.

At MtZ we encourage people to make the move to church membership. While church membership isn’t required to get involved, it does signify a commitment to your church family. We believe that commitment builds character. There is something powerful about a group of people choosing - and committing - to do life together. At MtZ we require a one time membership class that takes between one and two hours. This class is usually held four times a year. Interested in making things official?

4. Get involved.

At MtZ we know that Christianity isn’t a spectator sport. We have the privilege and responsibility to share the hope and love of the Gospel with others using our experience, resources, talent and time. There are currently a number of areas in which you can serve at MtZ, but if you see a way to use your unique gifts in a way we don’t currently offer make sure you let us know! Nearly every ministry we have available today wasn’t available until the right person stepped up.

5. Keep it Going.

Learning to follow Jesus is a lifelong journey and every journey has a starting point. While it’s true that that looked different for each of us, one thing is for certain: We have a chance to make a difference in someone else’s life when we love them in Jesus’ name. You would be amazed at the impact that can be had when you share the Gospel, invite someone to church, or meet a need in someone else’s life. Coming to faith in Christ is a journey in which we are intended to bring others along with us.
